Welcome To Malpas Park PSA 2017/2018


We wanted to take this opportunity to give you some more information about the PSA including our events and how you can help raise funds for the PSA!


The PSA currently has a small committee with the following officers.

We have a small band of volunteers made up of parents and staff who help the committee at events.


We raise money for the school to purchase items to improve the standards of teaching and to increase the enjoyment of the children at school. We recently raised enough money to purchase and install an audio-visual system for the hall, and in previous years we have had both the Junior and Infant Yards re-marked, a cover for the Infant Sandpit and furniture for the Junior classrooms to display books and create a quiet corner for the children to read.



During 2017.2018 we are fundraising to purchase more iPads, covers and docking stations to ensure children do not have to share an iPad when their class is using them, soft furnishings for the children's quiet breakout space and updating the reception class table top activities as well as providing new learning resources for all classes within the school. We have previously purchased an audio-visual system for the hall, had both yards re-marked and furniture for the KS2 classrooms to display books and create a quiet corner for children to read.



Keeping in touch

We have a Facebook account where we regularly post updates regarding upcoming events, including requests for donations and volunteers. You can contact us via this account, and we will respond as quickly as possible. Please bear in mind that this is administered by a parent volunteer so we are unable to answer questions about school run events/activities. You can find us at facebook.com/malpasparkpsa.malpas.

Regular Events


PSA School Fayres

Our annual PSA Christmas Fayre is usually held at the end of November in the school hall. We have a variety of stalls including Father Christmas, Children’s Enterprise where you can purchase items made by your children, Chocolate Fountain, cakes, refreshments, raffle, tattoos & face-painting, tombola, and local charities.


We also hold a Summer Fayre in June/July which depending on the weather is held outside. Instead of Father Christmas and the Chocolate Fountain, we have a barbeque and sometimes go-karts.


Nearly New Uniform Sales

We also collect and sell Nearly New Logo School Uniform. If you have any Nearly New items you wish to donate, please leave them at the school's reception. Details of these items will then be posted to our Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/596748400364631/ (please note this is a different group from our Facebook account above).


PSA School Discos

In the Autumn and Spring term we hold a disco for the children. These are usually around half-term, and are open from 6-7pm for Foundation Stage, and 7.15-8.30pm for Juniors. Nursery children are welcome to join us but they must be accompanied by an adult. Entry is £3 on the door and this includes drinks and a bag of sweets for each child.


New Events

In the last two academic years we tried a Scavenger Hunt and last year we combined it with the summer BBQ, which we hope to run again this year.  This will include a disco, and you can bring your own bottle. Further details on new events to follow.


Can you help us?

In order to raise funds for the school, we really need more volunteers to join the committee and to help us at the various events we hold. We have committee meetings once or twice per term and each event generally lasts for 2-3 hours.

IMPORTANT REMINDERThe Malpas Park PSA is in place to raise funds for the school. We use the Facebook account to publicise PSA events, and to communicate details of the funds we raise and how we spend these funds for the school. We are happy to respond to any queries around these events and our fundraising efforts.

The administrators of the account are parent volunteers, and are not involved in the management of the school. If you have any concerns about the school management you need to contact the Head Teacher and/or the Governing Body. 
For any information about school run events, please check the school website, pass on your email address to Mrs Kindred who sends out all letters by email and hard copy, or contact the school directly. 
Any postings on the PSA's timeline which are deemed to be inappropriate will be removed by the administrators of the account.
